Default 62 GP curiosity question

At a car show over the weekend. Guy shows up with a nice 62 GP I hadn't seen out before. He had a nice plastic data board to show with it. On the board he stated that it had 3.23 "economy" rear end. The owner seemed confident that was really an economy option. But with the Slim Jim tranny I thought it sounded like a kind of high number. My 61 with the same transmission got a 2.87 instead if the more common 2.69 only because it is a Ventura.

I did find some information that 63 GP got a 3.23 standard (would still have the Slim Jim). Did a 3.23 come as standard in 62 to give the owner even a little more jump at the stop light? With the already low first gear in the Slim Jim it should really jump.
