Default '71 and '72 standard nose LeMans differences

The leading edge of the top plate on the '72 core support is different than the leading edge of top plate on the '71 core support.

-when one attempts to bolt a '72 (metal) header panel on a '71 core support, usually the body guy cuts notches in the leading edge of the '71 top plate. The original on my '71 HO post car had suffered this treatment, and I ended up correctly swapping a nice ' 71 top plate back onto it.

-the '72 core support leading edge was redesigned to take the '72 metal header panel, but the '72 core support will also accept the '71 FRP (fiberglass) header panel, it's just a few attachment spots will not be used. Most likely, you have a '71 FRP header panel on a 72 core support.
