So - I finally got around to installing the replacement gears in my power vent windows... and... they don't fit.
I ordered the gears from Hyro-E-lectric (Hydroe.com) but don't recall specifically which gears. I want to say they were for a '67 Eldorado. The issue is the base of the gear (where it protrudes through the housing) is too long and too large in diameter. I can remedy that - but - in addition the diameter of the gear portion it too large (the worm would need to be farther outboard to accommodate). Also - in the process of fooling around with it now the LH motor doesn't work anymore. Here's my request(s): a) Anybody know for sure exactly which gear will work for a '63 GP? b) Anybody have a complete working motor and gear assembly (LH) that they would be willing to sell? Thanks in advance - K
