For keeping the original blacken bolts I clean with break cleaner to get off any grease and oil then I glass bead them and get all the rust off, then put them in the blacking stuff sold by Eastwood, rinse them in plain water, (dry with air real fast or they will start to rust) and soak them in Gibbs Oil. They have been on the car for years and still black and no rust.
