The price structure of the Safe-T-track is the same as on the A, G and F bodies; $42.13 for standard STT and $63.19 for HD STT. The cutoff was by gear ratio only; 3.23-3.36 with 3.23 or lower numerically being $42.13 and 3.36 and up being $63.19. With 3.90 or numerically higher STT became mandatory. On the big B cars all STT's are the same price regardless of gearing; $42.13.
In terms of actual physical content I know that 3.23's on the G used a 4 pinion with STT or open diff unlike the A or F cars which used a 4 pinion only on the 3.36 and up. It's been many years but I seem to recall that while studying the MPC that only the GP could be had with forged axles which only came with 3.90 and up if I recall correctly.
