Default 62 Clutch Linkage

I recently installed a new clutch in my 62 GP. The clutch is a Ram, Borg & Beck type. The clutch seems to work well. The pedal pressure is good.

I adjusted and free play as outlined in the instructions, but I can’t get the pedal to return the last 1/2-3/4”. I can easily pull the pedal up the last bit, it pops into place and stays up until I push it again. It feels like the over center mechanism can’t quite make it over center and needs a little help. I’m sure driving it like that will have the same effect as riding the clutch pedal, unless I pull it up after every shift.
Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Les
