I also had a packaging issue
Ordered a AC Delco CS144 alternator from RA. It came in a nice undamaged cardboard box. Inside the box was the alt in a AC delco box that looked like a tank rolled over it. See the attached pix. Luckily, after close inspection, the alt was undamaged, but who would put it in a crushed box with tape all over??????
This was a replacement for the first alt which someone dropped on the pulley end, causing the fan to rub on the front housing. The inside of that box had a clear indentation of the hit. George
