Question Lyndon Johnson....

Back in late July this year, I was travelling into far Western Queensland with my 4WD mates and we stopped off in a town called Winton.

In the main street, is a really nice old Art Deco hotel and picture theatre. In the window of the hotel was this sign board and I was quite surprised to see Lyndon Johnson has his name up there.

A day earlier we had been travelling through a cattle station and saw a sign pointing towards where a B17 had crashed in 1942. We did not go down that track because light was fading and we needed to get to our next camp. I guess the said B17 is the one Johnson was on??? Not sure though.

I looked up Johnson's history on Wikipedia but can't see any reference to him being in a plane crash in Queensland.
