I too am curious how this cam runs now that the install is where it should be. It may be perfect for you, or you might be the guy who wants to burn up the A&W on Lafayette during a local cruise night with his 650hp "street" motor.

Straight up cam install should be "good enuff" most of the time, but degreeing will optimize performance. Degreeing will also find the occasional factory cam or timing set that isn't cut exactly right. I think I was able to get 1.5 degrees by swapping around various combos of crank and cam gears during one engine build. I had 3 identical Comp timing sets in my parts pile.

Good work!
Squidward,
Whaaaaaaaaat? A&W on Lafayette? You did some detective work there! You sure you are in Arizona?
My wife and I love to pound the pavement every chance we get.
She actually got pulled over for doing a loud burnout with this car and the timing chain one tooth off! That's how good Pontiacs run folks! Everyone here already knows that.
Bet you all can imagine how happy I am with finding that problem.
Now I have back to back family events at our house.
I had to quit wrenching on the Pontiac yesterday because I had to get the go karts ready to rumble. We have a big yard and 3 karts running around like a circus. Three sizes so everyone can have some fun.
I will be able to finish putting it back together this morning and test drive maybe Monday.
