In an ironic twist, thats how I got my Mig welder. Uncle in-law brought it in to a service center in Appleton & it needed a new control board. Wasn't worth the repair cost so he bought a new Unit. Asked if I wanted it for parts or whatever & I happily accepted. He only charged me what the diagnosis fee was. $50 If I recall correctly.....
Anyway, pretty basic machine & it was an onboard relay that controlled the wire feed. I was able to order a replacement relay through Mouser & I had it fixed for under $12.00. MFG didn't offer board components, just the entire board. This was about 15 years ago. Mig is still working perfect!
