Before custom pistons came down in price and forged cranks weren't available we built quite a few 455/4" stroke combos. We used a 4.185 SRP piston, 6.700 long BBC rod and off-set stroked the crank to 4.060. It ended up at 446 cid. It was easy to hook, loved to REV and screamed on nitrous.
Here's a video with details for one I did for my car; https://www.facebook.com/PaulKnippen...8947272263378/ That's definitely one of my favorite engines. It has great street manners and would run mid-tens effortlessly. Last edited by PAUL K; 03-06-2020 at 09:18 AM. |
