The Service Manual shows a '+' next to the YC not a dagger.
 Being an early engine/block, there may be more people interested in it. Later blocks were plentiful. And possibly the people may like the early block compared to the later ones. But it is not a 455 HO engine. The Engine code (YC) determines what was put in/on the block. But everything can interchange to make that block what you want.
