More finds from my recent garage clean-a-palooza. I totally forgot I had these on the shelf.
Extremely nice pair of grills for a 1972 Firebird Trans Am. I restored this set over ten years ago when I had my black 72 Formula 455HO. Once I finished the set and sat back to admire my work, I was reminded by other more knowledgable experts that only the T/A used the blacked-out honeycomb area whereas the Formula used argent honeycomb. So instead of repainting the black I decided to restore a second set and used them for the Formula.
This was originally a very nice set with no cracks, breaks or repairs to begin with. I stripped the original finish off using "purple stuff" cleaner which works great on stripping plastic parts, Once it was completely sanitized of factory paint, I then used the correct argent metallic restoration paint and flat black for the honeycomb area. I purposely left the outside portion of the grills in their original unpainted condition as that is how the were originally installed.
$185 for the pair plus shipping. They will be packaged in a large box with plenty of packing material so keep that in mind for box size when it comes to shipping costs. Pick up in central NJ is welcomed, of course, if you want to save shipping costs.
