Default Resonators

How would the resonators affect the exhaust sound on my '67 LeMans with dual exhaust? I know that there are other determining factors, but the exhaust right now makes a low perfromance "blub blub" sound. I was wondering if the resonators sharpen that sound up a bit. Otherwise, I'll just leave the exhaust alone. I'm not switching anything out. But I don't mind cutting the tailpipes and adding resonators if it makes a difference. I'm also wondering if the repro ones do anything at all.
