To those of you who say AI is "scary", here's a question to ponder: can natural (or non-artificial) intelligence be scary as well? How many times has history seen a very bright individual bring about massive destruction?
Just food for thought. Aside from generating silly images, a well-trained artificial neural network is able to solve chemistry, math, and physics problems that have stumped humans for generations. The possibilities for advancements in science, medicine, and other fields is staggering.
