I agree, any way ya shake it, this will be different, in a good way. But, it’s nothing I can’t handle.
I frequently get the opportunity to drive a 2015 Camaro SS 6-speed car. It has a 3.01 first with a 3.45 rear gear. That math comes out to a 10.38 effective first gear. Of course, it also has traction control, and I believe a 315 tire in the back… but point is, I can adjust, and probably avoid the inadvertent burnouts. 😎
I may consider the 3.55 rear gear with the close ratio… still a good first gear ratio (10.18) and (of course) slightly lower cruising rpm’s (60mph = 1,830 / 75mph = 2288). Although, for whatever reason, that’s the least voted for option in the poll… if I trust the poll, the “best” option would be the wide ratio trans with the 3.31 rear gear. Hmmm
