I hope those with more knowledge can point me in the right direction.
My 68 Tempest custom was running fine until I she decided to develop the problem of "will crank over and catch, but when the key is in the run position it acts like I turned the engine off. All accessories work in the run position. I tested power at the coil positive and am getting 1.5V... I tested at the ignition switch for ign1 and get 12V. I tested the ignition wire at the coil and it is reading 11V. Only when the ignition wire is connected to the pertronix electronic ignition does it drop to 1.5V. When I disconnected the pertronix electric ignition from the coil the coil reads 11V. I changed out the pertronix thinking it could be bad, but the same voltage drop happened with the new one, and I moved the distributor to try to see if it changed the voltage reading, and it did not... Long story short, why would I lose voltage when the electronic ignition was hooked up? New wires from the coil to the distributor. Any help on what to look at next is greatly appreciated. (New ignition switch is order just in case.)
