Default 66 Bonneville hardtop door trim pad assembly removal

Hoping someone here can help me.
I own a 1966 Pontiac Bonneville 4 door hardtop. I am trying to remove the rear door trim pad assemblies to troubleshoot the power windows, but the top of each trim pad assembly will not release from the from the top of the inside door assembly – and I am certain I have removed all the screws. The entire top section of the trim pad assembly seems “stuck” to the top of the inside door assembly.
The top of the trim pad assembly is slightly different (larger) on the 1966 Pontiac Bonneville 4 door hardtop (due to the lack of a center pillar) from all other 1966 Pontiac 4 door B bodies. But I do not see why this slightly different trim pad assembly configuration would make it so difficult to detach the top of the trim pad assembly. What am I missing? It almost seems as if the top of the trim pad assembly was glued to the top of the inside door assembly - but this makes no sense.
Ideas welcomed.
