Default Repainting fiberglass hood

I bought a lovely used "Tony Orts" style cowl hood for my first gen at the nationals.

It was used though and already painted. I feel bad painting over someone's airbrush work, but none of it is right for my car.

With fiberglass do I need to treat it any different than a metal hood?

Other than some chips that will get a little filler or glazing putty, and one corner that ill put a fiberglass patch it its in good shape.

I was just planning on scuffing it good, shooting some epoxy. Doing the minor repairs. Hitting with another epoxy seal coat and painting it. Unless someone has a really good reason to do so I really don't want to sand it down to metal, or glass in this case.
