After attending the POCI convention in Pontiac, MI next year in my '63, I plan to head to Chicago to catch Route 66 and drive the Mother Road to LA. I figure to take about a week to get there, so I'm looking for transport (enclosed greatly preferred, but I'm willing to consider options) for my Bonneville from somewhere near LA to Dix Hills, NY (about halfway out Long Island).

Does anyone have anything scheduled for departure, say, anytime between 7/4 and 7/7 (or so) headed east? The departure date can be somewhat flexible; I could probably stash the car with a friend for a few days so I can get back sooner. Likewise, if departing from somewhere farther north, I could always impose on my MIL up in Pittsburg (hey, if I can drive all the way across the country, I can drive north a few more miles). Right now, I'm more concerned about finding someone headed east in that timeframe than from exactly where.
