More questions from someone who knows nothhing.
In trying to debug my HVAC issues on the new-to-me 68 Bonneville it becomes clear that I need to extract that push button radio-like control from the dash. The temp control cable is loose up on the top of the control and the master signal is not getting through. Also the blower speed contacts are a bit flakey. So it needs to come out and be generally cleaned up. So I read the directions. Then I pulled the lower A/C duct. Then I went to remove the knobs by giving them a good tug. I was reluctant to put high force to it and damage what I maybe cannot replace without words of wisdom from someone more experienced. How do these knobs come off? Do I just have to pull like heck? Or is there some sort of release? Any other wisdom about how to get this out and refurbished is appreciated. I'm expecting to fix it with a clean up and contact cleaner. Any other approach that has better merit? Thanks in advance, Bruce Clarkson |
