Saturday night I was involved in a Fun Run cruise for the local antique auto club here in St. Cloud. I drove my '79 black and gold T/A. Well, after the cruise, which was a warm-up event for Sunday's big Car Show, as usual a bunch of people took their hot rods and muscle cars to the local "strip", known as Division Street. I met up with a guy I'd met before who has a '80 Camaro Berlinetta. We ended up racing short runs twice, and BOTH times, even though neither of us "won" (we ran neck and neck both times), he made excuses about how he "backed off" because he A. Knew there was a cop waiting up ahead (I didn't see one ANYWHERE), and B. Didn't want to pull away from me because he "wanted to give the ricers a show".

My feeling is, either put up or shut up! Don't make excuses about how you could've beaten someone but decided not to. He's actually a nice guy, though.

Yeah, the car can MOVE, bitch!!!

It ended up being a hell of a show for the people watching. A teenager pulled up next to me at a stoplight, mouth wide open, girlfriend smiling next to him, and said "Holy ****!! That was awesome! How fast were you guys going?!?!?!" I just looked at him and laughed, saying "I have no idea!!!"

Yeah, the car can MOVE, bitch!!!

Thats what sucks about street racing. The looser always has some sorry excuse.
What I really hate are the ones who bug you every day for 2 or 3 months wanting to run against you, then when they loose the excuses begin.
Funny thing is they never offer to race you again.
That always tells me that they lost and dont have the balls to admit it.
