I would like to know what color the inside floors of my 64 gto should be. Are they like a red oxide, a primer, or how did the factory color them? Thanks. Dave.

inside floors on 65's were body color. I would think it's the same on a 64.

I have an unrestored '64. The floors are body colour. Engine bay & trunk are also body colour.

I also have an unrestored and unmolested 64. The floors under the carpet, the inside of the trunk and the portion of the fenders that protrude into the engine compartment are all painted the original body color. The car still bears the original paint, although not for long.

the floor pans underside are black though when we stripped off the undercoating tar we used a solvant that softened the tar and the paint was a satin black but everything on top side on 64 was color of the car except under the inside dash was natural steel and the same in the trunk area over the tension springs for the trunk lid that didn't get sprayed when the car was shot but the hinges and wheel house and trunk pans also the trunk lid was on the car when they were shot if you take an original trunk lid off it will be natural under the hinge 65 and up had trunk paint but the floors under the carpet were car color as previously stated
