I am in search of a factory 1979 firebird defrost delete plate. I have found out that ames is now reproducing 1970-81 gauge bezels, but they have the holes for the defrost option, and my car doesnt have it. If anyone has or knows where I can find a factory defrost delete plate for the metal swirl finish gauge bezel for a 79 t/a Id appriciate it! thanks!

Are you talking about the little plate where the black buttons go? There should be some on eBay. There are tons of cars out there that didn't have defrost.

yeah the pic of the plate in your post is what Im searching for. I know there are many without it but for some reason many people hack this little piece up with toggle switched and the like. If anyone has one for sale let me [email protected]

I've got a NOS one. If you can locate me a NOS one with the defroster switch hole I'll let the one I have go.
Thanks David
