Mine says PB. Gene has a "J" in box 77 but his Trans Unit No. starts with PB. Maybe the two aren't linked. I checked the tag on my trans and it says PX-67-27761, which is what identifies which trans you have as far as replacing parts. As Gene pointed out earlier, according to Zazarine/Roberts, "...late in the production year, the PS model was replaced by the PX, which was redesigned to complement the higher torque output in GTO engines." Then they quote Service Bulletin 67-I-76 which lists the different replacement part numbers for three trans parts that are different from the original PS.

Perhaps the "J" disappeared when the PX model trans came out? If Rons67HO, gtoric, and Keoni1978 all have PX transmissions, then we would have a little more evidence to support that theory.

Still haven't heard back from PHS.
