the 700r4 and the 4l60e are the same transmission but 4l60e is electronically controlled. The 4l80e transmission is the tough beast that everybody wants. The 4l80e is basically an OD TH400 but it also is electronically controlled. These units are expensive. I have heard of $800 for just a core.
