Hello, I am new to this forum. A Coworker has a 66 GTO Project car he is wanting to trade. Cowl tags says it should be Mission Beige with a Martinique Bronze painted top and fawn iterior. I can't find a picture of a car like this anywhere on the net. Does anyone have a car like this, or now where I can find a picture. Would the car be worth much restored. The color combo sounds pretty ugly to me. The car is non-numbers matching, but has thousands of dollars worth of parts ready for installation. Your responses would be appreciated

Get the VIN and send it off to PHS, www.phs-online.com
That combo sounds very rare. I was under the impression that the only colors that could be painted on roofs were the same colors as vinyl tops. I would love to see the PHS docs on that car. |

The paint code on the cowl tag is VT. I would expect to see VV, or V and then some sort of number for a cordova top. But this one actually says VT

Pontiac Historical Society faxed me some info today on the car today. It is in fact a two-tone car Paint Code VT, Also found out the car was originally a Tri-power car, other options include, custom seat belts, am radio,7.75X14 whitewall tires, remote mirror group, console, automatic transmission. 3:55 Gears, Power steering, Soft Ray Glass(windshield only), Front and rear floor mats,Electric Clock, Custom wheel discs. Does anyone have any idea on how many of these their could possibly be. What could this car be worth in a driver quality restored non-matching numbers condition.

Two toned GTO's were not all that uncommon in those years, but that combo was probably pretty rare. However this is one of those cases were rare doesn't necessarily mean desirable. Probably doesn't make it worth any more or less. As you know, any quality restored GTO will bring good bucks, and of course the tripower is a big plus. You definetly have a desirable car!
