OK, it seems like it never ends.

My fresh motor is running great, good oil pressure, etc.

However when I first start it up I get some noticeable lifter tick that eventually fades away after it warms up. I used the Summit 2802 cam kit which had the HT-951 lifters in it.

So it seems these lifters bleed down significantly when it sits overnight and take awhile to pump back up.

I did the adjustment cold, 1/2 turn past zero lash.

Are these lifters junk?

Also, will this effect damage anything? I don't have the money to order up a $100 set of Comps or Cranes...

Also, I experienced the dreaded Hot Start issue yesterday. Drove the car for about 15 minutes to run over to the parts store for some light bulbs, shut it off - came back out 10 minutes later and it cranked so slowly that it just wouldn't start. Waited 15 minutes, and although it cranked slowly it did catch and I drove home.

Anyone have experience with these Summit Lifters?

Not sure what to do about the hot start issue - I have read all the posts... cannot afford a mini starter... Battery cable is brand new, connections are tight and clean.. Maybe a heat shield?
