theres a tab that sticks out to mount valance (top center of plate opening)that you must cut hole through fiberglass for.More visible in previous pic.

heres the end. I dont think it looks quite like original but it will do until I can find good original.DO NOT throw out old rubber piece it made a good template for cutting excess off fiberglass replacement.

That looks pretty good to me. I have been looking for a good front bumper for a long time now and I will probably just get the fiberglass piece. Thanks for the pictures.

Did you have to drill holes in the metal part of the bumper to put the screws in? Your fiberglass piece looks a little different than mine. Does your fiberglass piece end where the two parts of the bumper bolt together. Mine looks like it will go deep enough to fit in between the two pieces and I could use the existing bolts that hold the bumper together to make the fiberglass piece stay in place. Also, my car did not have the two license plate brackets on it to give it that extra hold. I guess I'll need to find those just so I can have the security to hold the new piece on. Thanks for the pictures. It will definately help. That front end is looking pretty good!

Dave,yes I drilled into metal front half (the piece that had rubber on it).The fiberglass piece was a lot wider and I also thought about sandwiching between the 2 halves but its just too tight of a fit.Use your old rubber as a template and cut off excess.I wasnt worried about drilling front piece Ive aready cut rubber off of it.

Unfortunately, I already trashed my rubber piece. I hope that I will be able to sandwich mine in between the two pieces. I've put it in one other time while I was experimenting with it, but it didn't extend far enough for every hole. If you know of anyone who has the license plate brackets, I could sure use those.

Wow, I did not know that such a piece existed. Looks pretty nice and it may be something I am interested in when I move to the bumper phase. I think mine may be salvageable but not sure there is lots of pitting and fade.I saw some at the nationals that had been restored and never really got any clear answers from owners on what process was used or how bad they were to begin with. Thanks for posting the pics.
