Oh...so you don't want to talk stock when it doesn't suit your argument.

BTW: Since the word "iron" was mentioned, care to take any guesses who built the first all aluminum (block, heads and pistons) OHV V8? I'll give you a hint: It was a 389. The engine wasn't a success because it didn't have sleeves. Nevertheless, whenever GM uses an aluminum block, heads and pistons in one engine they aren't getting that idea from chevrolet.

Finally, if you think you can't "build" a LS1/2 to surpass the levels of those "built" vintage Pontiac engines, you're mistaken.
