The answer to this question depends on what
you intend to do with your car.
If you intend to do even a "little" drag racing then I would go with a performance built
transmission. Jegs offers a TCI "street fighter"
tranny for about $750.
If the car is strictly going to be used as a "grocery-getter" or just driven to car shows
then a local may be able to rebuild yours for considerably less.
