Just yesterday I attempted to put in a new high torque mini starter into my 68 Firebird Conv w/455 and Hedman Headers. No luck. The selanoid hits the headers. The mounting plate on the new starter has a 2 position mount but neither one lets it fit. It puts the selanoid in the 2 oclock position and it needs to be between the 12 and 1 oclock position. It's a Hitachi starter. I called the performance store where I bought it and he said I might try to drill and re-tap some new mounting holes. Has anyone had the same problem and if so what was your solution??
Thanks in advance
Roy
