Very strange to see the bluing because there is very little relative movement between the rollers & the mating metal [ otherwise the grease would melt ! ] I lean towards what DOC said, are the caps somehow moving away from the shafts, cocking & breaking off the ends? Caps able to move, not secured by circlips?
