I was installing my new water pump and the bolt on the center bottom just kept turning and turning, never getting tight...what can I do if it is stripped? I believe it goes into the timing cover...please don't tell me a new cover!! I replaced this whole thing because the plates and dividers were corroded, and a slight leak from the gasket on the bottom...
Well I sealed up all the bolts with a new gasket anyway. We will see how it holds water tomorrow! Any ideas??

Try JB Weld or Devcon. They are epoxy fillers. Remove your water pump and fill the bad hole with epoxy. Let it cure completely. Run a 15/64 drill bit into the epoxy. Then run a 5/16 tap in your new hole. If you let it cure you should have no problems.

Have you thoought about a heli coil, they can be as strong or stronger then new.
