I'd pull the oil galley plugs and just wash it with hot soapy water after a quick honing. Replace the rings and bearings. Measure the crank and polish.
Check the piston skirts very close because it only takes a small crack to cause a knocking sound. Also measure your piston to wall clearance. If you change the pistons I would have the block rehoned with torque plates. Check with your machinist on what you should buy.
One of the main things is to make sure all of your clearances are correct because thats where a lot of knocks come from.
