i have the 6x-4 heads that i was going to have milled down. use summits rebuild kit for the bearings and stuff. do not know what cam i will use or carb. i will use factory exhaust manifolds and the stock intake, but i think i can get a performer for cheap. it will be bored 30 over. does anyone know what kind of power this will make?

I think you'd better nail down some more specifics before wondering what kind of power you can get. Depending on cam, carb, rocker ratio, compression ratio, porting work, and hell even your air cleaner type you could get anywhere from 200 hp, up to 500. (Although 500 with stock exhaust would be amazing). Engine builds have do be evaluated as a whole to mean anything, especially the cam.

i will use a Q jet. heads milled down to a 9.5 cr. have a little port work done. 1.65 rockers, and as for cam i dont know what will go with what i have. also i may have to use stock exhaust manifolds, but i am trying to see if i can fit aftermarket headers.

i am putting this into a datsun 280z. i am pretty sure that i have to use the stock exhaust manifolds. as for the cam i dont know what goes good with the other stuff. i will be getting a performer intake for it also.

A 280Z, huh? Cool! Anti-Rice!

Unfortunately, those stock manifolds are going to really limit your cam choices. Can you run the GTO/2nd gen. Firebird RA manifolds? Those would be much much much better than plain old log manifolds.

If you are stuck with plain manifolds, make sure the cam has at least a 112 lobe separation and 10 more degrees duration on the exhaust side. I'd not go over 220 duration @ .050" either. The factory 068 grind would be a good choice for such an engine.
