tom- that's on motor...383 LT1, hydraulic roller, ported stock heads, lots of gear and lots of clutch. i used to launch it at 5000 (shifted at 6500) and i think kiddi is leaving even higher than that on the slicks. the car was full weight with a/c, leather, t-tops and full interior when it got on the boat for iceland. i'm not sure if he's taken any weight out or not.

I have a 6AL box on it, it has saved things a couple of times with the muncie too.!

Interesting thread as I'm considering a TKO 600 for my car right now.
I'd pretty well decided to go auto after burning up clutches last season but just can't bring myself to give up the standard. I think I'll be pushing the 650 tq/hp rating on the Tremec and will hopefully be in the 10s next year. The WFO Heim joint clutch linkage I saw in HPP looks to be an excellent upgrade to go with the 5-speed. Anyone using this yet? |
