You can't order one from them already zero balanced for an internally balanced assembly?
I should think that would be more common than the stock imbalance these days . . .

The pontiac flywheel (alum) that I got had a counterbalance weight bolted on the engine side. I sent it to the machine shop to check it out just to be sure and it was pretty close to zero (w/ out the bolt on weight; the clutch was balanced independent of the flywheel).
I think that stock Pontiacs have slight counterbalance and so McLeod must be conforming to the stock specs. When I exchanged flywheels I asked if they (McLeod) could zero balance the new flywheel and they declined, but it was little trouble and money ($50) to have it done at a local machine shop. |
