get a grinder for gringing..a sander for sanding or buffing. That being said..get a 4 1/2 grinder. I have used one in work for over 13 years...Craftsman. I also have a sander/polisher that I put 8" 50 grit discs on and also buff with it. but that is a different animal. You want the 4 1/2 for grinding welds and such.

I ended up with a Dewalt 402. It has the paddle switch and three locations for the handle. It fits pretty well but I am not happy with how much debris shoots uo from it. I'll beat it up and see how long it lasts!!! lol
