i dont think it's stupid...each to their own, my man.
i remember vinyl roof 2nd gens from teh 70's...they looked ok, i spose...always on a base car, never a z28 or ta.
just never heard of someone who's not a pimp adding one on!
in all seriousness, consider doing a 2 tone paint job instead...least you won't to worry about all the rust that grows under the vinyl, esp. up in the great white north, eh?
