My wife had a 77 Formula that was white with a black vinyl top (like red pic) ,blue stripes and black interior.It looked really good if you could look past all the rust.Unfortunatly the rear springs came up thru the floor under the rear seats.

Hi, You should be able to get a vinyl top to fit your car from a local auto upholstery shop or firebird catalogs. They were mainly used pre76. They are fine if you take care of the car. If it sits out all the time, they will eventually hold moisture though. The hard part will be finding all of the chrome trim that covers the raw edge of the top. I do not think they are reproduced. If you find all the trim, then you can look for a top cause it will be easy to find.

You will have to drill holes and pop rivit some molding clips to the car after the top is profesionally ( recomended) fitted. The clips will hold the chrome in place. Originals were studs that were welded to the body like along the front and rear glass chanels.

Vinyl tops look good on early TA's also. Chris Ritter has a VERY nice white 74 (?) TA and it can be seen by going to Transamcountry.com and looking int he members rides section.
