Anybody got a link to a provider for new interior pieces?
All the plastic parts in my 78 interior will just about crumble from a hard look. Any help appreciated. |

Gary,
I don't have the links handy, but do a search for Classic Industries, National Parts Depot, Year One, Ames Performance, and Performance Years. These are the biggest and most well-known. Each has positives and negatives. One warning about interior parts in general though - most come in black, requiring you to repaint the appropriate color.

Does the vinyl dye I see advertised actually work?
Haven't found a single interior piece in light blue yet, which is what I need. I don't wanna just throw something in the car that looks cheap and shabby,so redyeing looks like my only choice. |

I can't remember what brand I used but my 72 dash came out better than I ever thought. I'll replace it later because it's cracked on top but I have a cover for that. NAPA has a really good dye for plastic too. I did my deluxe door panels. It's a real dye and not a paint.

Check with your GM dealer. Last time I checked just a couple of months ago, the back quarter trim and upper sail panel trim along with some of the t-top trim is still available. I bought some for my '79 10th just over a year ago. It is dye to match of course.

I like the stuff from SEM............always has worked well for me. Make sure you go strictly by the directions as far as application and cleaning though.

SEM vinyl dye/paint works good as long as you clean very good and use the vinyl prep. You can even have it mixed into factory colors.
