I'm going to add a pusher pump to my '69 soon too. I'm going to try the Carter Street pump.

The booster pump setup works great, without the bypass, for your application of priming the carb and occassional street/strip performance use. Both pumps are equipped with poppet style valves that yield to pressure, allowing either pump to flow thru the other. Your 69 should have a small fuel return line off the mechanical pump, now that I think about it.
The "valves" do provide some flow restriction, which may be Tom's reason for recommending the bypass. Fuel pressure should be checked and regulated, if necessary. I use a small "Spectre" regulator, avaiable @ Autozone for about $20, to keep the tri-pwr pressure down to 4#. I have driven the 4450# GP cross-country in July, and ran 14.45 @ 97mph @ 6,000 ft. with this combo pump setup, without fuel supply problems. Les
