Jason, I have an original 66 Tri Power and although it is up in the barn loft I seem to remember all the tags being aluminum and in raw aluminum color (light silver) and I do not remeber ever seeing an anodizing on them even twenty five years ago, I can look this weekend at it but I am pretty sure the tags on mine have always been raw aluminum but it easily could have been worn off by handling or fuel, ect...I'll pull one off and check under the fastener, will not be able to post results until Monday though. Jason,
I didnt check PY but at Ames, they give the year and the # that is on each tag. I'm sure if you e-mail them they could tell you the colors.
for 66 tripower, manual trans, #'s are; front 7025178. center 7026075. rear 7025179
