I really have to tip my hat to guys like Scoot, BOP, Ken and several others, who go to the trouble to make new products for the Pontiac. Seems like a great idea to me.

I have several plates in storage that have A LOT of wear on them. If nothing else, this would mean less metal in my oil.

I am really, REALLY thinking about the Polymer Distributor Gear for the same reason. Less metal and less wear overall.

I never really embraced the ploymer thing. All out officers carry the Glock, but I still carry a Colt 1911 .45 Automatic because I like steel.

Guess I am really an old dinosaur after all...Robert

Robert, i had already bought a bronze gear, and they came out with the polymer gear AFTER i had bought it...i knew i was going to a polymer gear, but decided to run the engine for a few miles with the bronze gear on an HEI before dropping in my comp 9000 distributor.

i put maybe 50 miles on it before switching, and could not believe the amount of bronze in my oil when i drained it, and in my Oberg filter screen when i checked it....it actually took a few times of cleaning the screen, and another oil change before i got the majority of it out.

so far so good with the BOP gear.
