Im sure somebody has had this problem before; I had my front seats re-done and now my head is way up in the headliner and my legs can barely pass under the bottom of the steering wheel. I dont really want to have to have my original brackets cut, does anybody sell them seat brackets that are a bit lower to compensate for the restuffed seats? Any advice would be appreciated.

I had the same problem. The upholstry shop that did them said they would relax and live with it. I was about to cut a set of legs shorter, but ended up taking the seats to a custom shop that simply took the foam padding and hot wire cut some of the bulkyness out of them, actually giving them better shape. It lowered me enough that it's reasonable again. I was told the repop foam is too much volume, and that they need to be shaped down a bit. Not sure if that it true, but it worked for me

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Im a big guy to begin with but its almost rediculous getting in and out of my car. I may have to give your suggestion a try but hope the seats dont look too bad afterwards, they look nice right now, but I feel like Lurch driving my car..

I was concerned as well with them looking "deflated" after cutting out some of the foam. The seats look very natural, even after two years. My concern now was if I didn't trim them, the vinyl was too tightly stretched and would of pulled the seams out eventually. My guy also suggested loosening the burlap a bit to let the springs work a little more independently. We didn't, but could have to gotten the seats to relax a bit more.

After two years, the seat has barely relaxed any, so if your head is hitting the ceiling like mine did, it will for years without any modifications
