IM GETTING READY TO INSTALL A 3 QRT SYSTEM ON MY 462,I CALLED CANTON FOR PROPER PLUMBING.THEY SUGGEST YOU DONT USE THE HOLE BY DISTRIBUTER TO SMALL.YOU NEED A #10 LINE PLUMBED FROM REMOTE SET UP.ITS PROBABLY OK FOR 4 OR 6 CYLINDER. I WOULDNT SUGGEST THAT FOR V8..

I was going to weld a 1/2" npt thread weld fitting on the top of the oil filter housing as I don't have the room by the distributor, plus I just moved my oil presure guage fitting there. I still don't understand why that wouldn't be ok as they do make -10 to 3/8 npt fittings. I have a couple in my fitting drawer and they look perfectly adequate to me. Another thing to keep in mind is the feed hole on the block for the oil filter housing isn't any larger.
