My '68 Tempest Custom.
I might have to sell it soon, as I have no money to fix her up and Im in desperate need of a daily driver.

I have a 69 GTO, but if I had your LeMans I'd drive it proudly and never EVER look back. Absolutely sweet. Love the chrome bumper, and LOVE the color (my goat is destined for the same color). I almost bought a 68 endura-delete GTO, I even rented a trailer and left to drive to TN to go get it, but blew out my transmission on my truck before I even got out of town. Didn't make the trip, and found my 69 in the mean-time. LOVE THE RALLY I's - totally badass. My only regret with having a 69 is that it wouldn't look right with the Rally I's.. *sigh*. Grass is always greener, I guess.  Chris

69 Custom S Pics
O.K. - This is my first attempt at posting pics. This is my 69 Custom S.
I bought it a year ago in Wyoming. This is the unrestored car - just a few bolt ons that I preferred over the granny look. I bought it from the second owner, and it was still in the little town that it was originally bought in. It only had 1 repaint and is very straight and rust free, as the climate is very dry in central WY, and they don't salt the roads. Last edited by yakker; 05-21-2006 at 02:26 PM. |

Here it was in Granny trim...
I flew there to pick it up and then drove it 1000 miles home. I drove 75 - 80 mph all the way and got 18 mpg. It didn't use a drop of oil, as it was a 64,000 original mile car. Gotta love these old Pontiacs! Last edited by yakker; 05-21-2006 at 11:12 AM. |

Thank you Chris for the comments. The color combo gets lots of compliments. For a 20+ year old repaint it still looks good. couple issues. no biggies though. I'm kinda digging the rally ones more and more, as I just don't see them on many pontiacs, don't get me wrong love the five spoke rally 2's but it's neat being different too.

Vrroom- nice paint! sure to get attention, good luck on finishing soon so you can enjoy it.
Yakker- I like the 68 bumper and grilles and wheels too!! Kinda messes w/ the viewer seeing 69 turn signals and 68 bumper!!! Way cool though, Didn't catch it at first- I was thinking that bumper was REAL shiney for a granny mobile!! Wish the hell they didn't salt our raods there'd still be decent cars around in parts yards instead of rust buckets Good luck with future improvements!! OHC6man where you at? your daily driver looks pretty nice man!! Palm tree says SOUTH. ;-) I'm tempted to move south just so I can SEE a rust free car LOL Howard
