Yes, it was quite an ordeal. I was just as disappointed with the results and it's not even my car.
The biggest bummer is that this shop was recommended by other GTO owners in the area.
I don't consider myself an expert at paint & body but I do have past experience with a spray gun and the paint application on Russells car was sad.
Finally on the fourth attempt, the paint laid out very well.

Stay away from this shop, for sure!!!

I am sorry to hear that. The owner of the shop is my uncle. I know he did the restoration of the car of a president of a gto club in Houston. He was very happy with it. I do not remember the name of the gto club. But I do know he was happy with his car and he did well when he showed the car. I can assure you that this is not the normal result of their work.

If other GTO owners in the area recommended him, then what do you think happened here? Do they not show their cars? Or do they just not care as much about their cars? Or did they really get quality work done and this was just a bad experience for both the shop owner and the customer?

I think it is unfair to tell everybody to stay away when you admit that others recommend the shop. You also state that he repainted the car 3 more times at his own expense. 3 more times at his expense. Does this sound like a bad shop owner?
