I like the restraint you display- 12% underdrive- good starting point for an 8-71 on a 400.
After torqueing everything together, I hope you also did everything possible to see that the pulley centerlines (crank/idler/snout) are parallel in both (horizontal/vertical) planes. Nothing in this world is perfect, but you should try for as close to perfect as possible. Throwing a belt really isn't "cool"! I never ran carbs on a blower, hence my question- why "externally boost referenced"? I didn't think the carbs would need to know there's a blower under them? |
